About the Author

Timothy “Preacher” Johnson grew up in Northern Ohio near Cleveland. Saved at fifteen, called to preach at sixteen Tim has been a senior Pastor since 1987.

Tim married the love of his life, Julie, shortly after high school. After two years of college, Tim enlisted in the United States Army. With just shy of five years of military service Preacher and his wife moved back from Darmstadt Germany with their four young children. Two years later Tim started his first senior Pastoral position at Tennessee Valley Baptist Church.

For over twenty years Tim served both as a Pastor in three separate churches and as a correctional officer at the federal penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana where he earned the nickname “Preacher.”

Tim has been serving as Pastor at Countryside Baptist Church since 1995. Soon after retiring from the Department of Justice, he delved into journalism in 2010 as a columnist and town government reporter for The Sentinel in Rockville, Indiana. In 2014 Tim started writing Preacher’s Point which currently appears in twenty-eight newspapers in ten states.
